Maureen Silcoff

Maureen SilcoffMaureen graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1986. She is a partner at Silcoff Shacter and has been in private practice as an immigration and refugee lawyer since 1988, spending 5 years as a Member of the Immigration and Refugee Board.  
 
Maureen is the President of the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers. She has taught refugee law at UBC’s Extended Learning program and is a regular contributor to the Lawyers’ Daily. She was involved in test case litigation regarding refugee health care and designated countries of origin and has co-chaired several access-to-justice campaigns for legal aid funding. Maureen speaks regularly at conferences and community events.
