David TyndaleDavid started his career in private practice before joining the Immigration Law Division in the Toronto office of the Department of Justice (DOJ). David retired from the DOJ in 2025.

In private practice, David represented prospective immigrants and refugee claimants before various immigration tribunals and in the Federal Court and Court of Appeal. With the DOJ, David led teams in high profile litigation involving all aspects of immigration and citizenship law, including complex inadmissibility issues; security certificates; significant constitutional challenges; and complex civil litigation, including class actions.

David has delivered various training and development courses to peers and colleagues, and to client officials with IRCC and the CBSA.
