Previously a Queen's University student (1998-2001), Scott Smith, PhD, RCIC, joined the immigration profession in 2008 under the first regulator, CSIC. In June 2023, Scott earned his PhD from McMaster University after successfully defending (with honours) his dissertation on global governance in higher education. Scott is recognized as a subject matter expert in federal, provincial, and municipal immigration programs, adept at navigating the complexities of immigration law and policy. As the corporate director of iHeartCanada, he has led numerous international education and immigration outreach projects, working with a variety of stakeholders in both public and private spheres. Since launching The Immigration Smith Ltd. in 2024, much of Scott's professional activities now revolve around educating, training, mentoring, and consulting other immigration professionals.
