Debbie Rachlis was called to the bar in 2015. After articling at Waldman & Associates, she remained at the firm as an associate until 2018. Debbie joined the HIV & AIDS Legal Clinic Ontario (“HALCO”) as a staff immigration and refugee lawyer in 2019. Debbie returned to private practice in October 2022.
Debbie appears before all Divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board and the Federal Courts. She has represented public interest interveners at the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Debbie received her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. She has a BA from Trent University and an MA in Political Economy from Carleton University.
