Esther LexchinEsther Lexchin is the principal lawyer at Lexchin Law in Toronto (Tkaronto), where she practices refugee and immigration law with a focus on humanitarian issues. She has been practicing in this field since she articled with the Refugee Law Office of Legal Aid Ontario in 2014. 

She received her law degree from the University of Toronto in 2014, and a BA in International Development Studies from McGill University. At U of T, she was awarded the John Yaremko Award, for academic achievement in the area of human rights. 

Outside of work, she enjoys camping, soccer, riding her bike, and soft pretzels. From 2011-2024, she was a facilitator with Everyday Friends, a grassroots program in Toronto supporting authentic social experiences for people with intellectual disabilities. In 2023, she and the other facilitators were awarded Community Living Ontario’s “Changemaker Award.”
