Frederick Y-F Li
Fred is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (“RCIC-IRB”), Paralegal, Commissioner of Oaths and Managing Director of FP Immigration & Associates which he co-founded. In addition to his experience as a RCIC, he has over 21 years of combined experience working as a Paralegal for various Canadian national law firms. The areas of law that he worked in were civil litigation, labour & employment, Canadian & US immigration, human rights, family, criminal, corporate, contract, regulatory and alternative dispute resolution.
Given Fred’s vast experience working with various law firms, he has extensive experience specializing in hearings & appeals before the Immigration & Refugee Board of Canada (“IRB”), immigration investigations that are before the Canada Border Services Agency, humanitarian & compassionate applications, family class applications, work & study permit applications, and assisted clients in obtaining permanent residence through other immigration programs.
In addition to Fred’s immigration practice, he is a member of the College of Immigration & Citizenship Consultant’s (“CICC”) IRB Specialization Committee, past member of the Mentorship Advisory Committee and past member of the Practical Experience Advisory Committee. He has taught immigration law courses at Ashton College with a focus on Ethics & Professional Conduct, Enforcement, Rules & Procedures before the IRB, Canadian Citizenship and Practice Management. Fred has also taught various Continuing Professional Development courses on immigration law and is an avid volunteer for non-profit organizations such as the Immigrant Services Society of British Columbia and Access Pro Bono.
