Kelvin is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant with over a decade of experience in immigration and government service. Beginning his career as a Border Services Officer with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) in their FSWEP program, Kelvin developed a strong understanding of immigration regulations and port of entry processes.
After seven (7) years of employment at CBSA, in 2015, he transitioned to roles within the BC Public Service, where he worked in a variety of positions in the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP), responsible for evaluating and adjudicating immigration applications submitted by those seeking to establish themselves economically in the region.
In 2020, Kelvin joined the University of British Columbia's Central HR immigration team, attracted by the opportunity to apply his expertise in a new context. Despite the unprecedented challenges posed by the pandemic, Kelvin's dedication and expertise earned him and his colleague the UBC President's Staff Award in 2022 in recognition of their outstanding contributions.
In addition to guiding the University’s Faculties and Departments with navigating the complexities of immigration compliance as the current Manager of Central HR Immigration at UBC, Kelvin also co-owns and operates Loughlin Wu Immigration (LWImmigration.com), a boutique immigration consultancy firm based out of British Columbia.
