Mayoori Malankov (she/they) holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa and was called to the Ontario bar in 2017. Following the completion of her articles at the South Asian Legal Clinic of Ontario, Mayoori joined the firm Jared Will & Associates where she worked for 3 years specializing in immigration and refugee protection matters.
In 2020, Mayoori joined York University, where she provides legal guidance and education for international students navigating the complexities that lie at the intersection of immigration regulations and post-secondary institutional policies. Currently, she serves as a Steering Committee Member of the Student Advising Committee, a Professional Learning Community of the Canadian Bureau of International Education.
Mayoori is passionate about grassroots and community-led activism, access to justice and demystifying the law, which continues to guide her work as a practitioner and educator.
