Ooma Ramroop
Ooma holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Toronto in Psychology, Criminology, and Sociology is a certified adult educator and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario and the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC).
Ooma’s strong advocacy skills, knowledge of immigration and criminal law, and teaching style serve as a great source and inspiration for those interested in immigration law. She is an advocate on sponsorship appeals, detention reviews, admissibility hearings, removal orders, and refugee cases. She serves as the Managing Director at Bright Immigration a full-service award-winning immigration firm in Toronto.
For over 20 years she has been employed as a Prosecutor with the Ministry of the Attorney General of Ontario on quasi-criminal cases. Ooma has successfully conducted trials and obtained sentences with incarceration, probation orders, and substantial fines. She has garnered a reputation for being fair and ethical. She has also appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice Provincial Offences trials and appeals.
Selected to train lawyers, prosecutors, police officers, investigators, directors, detectives, sergeants on various legal issues. She also spearheaded the Prosecution department at the Ontario College of Trades and conducted, trained, and managed 25 prosecutors and administrative staff across Ontario.
She was a continuing education professor in the paralegal, legal studies, and immigration programs for several years at Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced learning, Sheridan College, and Centennial College and a faculty member with Osgoode Hall Professional Development in the Provincial Offences Certificate Program.
