Razmeen Joya is passionate about practicing in the field of immigration and refugee law.
As a former refugee, she has been intimately aware of the multitude of issues that come with immigrating to a new country whether it is for a better life or if it is to seek safety and protection. Having found Canada to be a welcoming place for refugees and new immigrants, she decided to pursue a legal career with a focus on refugee and immigration law. She obtained her Juris Doctor (JD) from University of Ottawa in 2011. She completed her articles at a community legal clinic and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2012. Prior to her JD degree, Razmeen completed a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree at York University and worked as a legal assistant at Jackman and Associates for three years. She has been a sole practitioner since 2012.
